Dissertation Title: Drivers of symbiotic quality in wild Bradyrhizobium symbionts
During my dissertation I studied the legume-rhizobium symbiosis to investigate the evolution of cooperation and conflict in these interactions. I investigated i) the ecology of non-nodulating rhizobia and their effects on the symbiosis, ii) the evolution of antibiotic resistance in wild Bradyrhizobium populations, iii) the evolutionary gains and losses of symbiosis, and iv) the evolution of symbiotic quality in natural populations of Bradyrhizobium.
